    CRT is acting up

    Hey Guys,

Once in a while when I turn on my Haas the screen comes up like in the attached picture. I power off the control wait a few seconds on power on again and it is fine. Also the screen twitches skinny to normal sometimes for several seconds and then is fine.

Anyone else experienced this problem? Is the CRT going bad? Video card going bad?

    Thanks

Could be a loose connection. I had this sort of issue with my newer version control, and securing the connection did the trick for me.

This was a bad video board. Looking at your issue I would gamble on a video board ($420) before a CRT or LCD retrofit kit ($600-$700).

However, that could be caused by a bad processor or any board in the stack. Problems during initial power up can be tricky to diagnose. Check your data and address cable connections.

    Thank you,

    Phil
