Hi everyone,

I have a Shenhui SH350 50W CO2 laser.

Can someone please send me a save-file of the vendor settings, or screenshots of the x and y axis settings (as in my attached pictures), so I can set the correct parameters?

Info on my machine:
Shenhui SH350
50 W laser
300 x 500 mm work area

Motherboard: RDC6442G (EC) (white color enclosure)
Motherboard Software versions (as displayed on built in screen when booting):
RDC-V8.00.03
HMI-V4.1.1

Stepper Motor controllers: 2M542-06 (black boxes)

PC-Software: RDCAM V6.0.37 and RDCAM V8 (makes no difference which one is being used). PC's used with Win 7 Pro, Win 7 Home, Win XP, no difference


the challenge is that the engraving (scanning) runs sideways, the higher the laser power setting is. At 12% power, it runs straight down, at 15%, there is an offset of about 1.5mm over a length of 15 cm, at 60% power, this offset is massive, and so on.
Attached a picture with 15% power setting on the engraving (the clean one), and tests with higher settings (the one that is engraved all over), so you see what my problem is.

Also, sometimes while cutting (vector based), the cut lines do not overlap on side-by-side boxes, even though they should. One line is offset by about 2mm comparred to the other.

I had the suggestion to activate the "PWM rising edge valid" option in the vendor settings on both x and y axis. This initially resulted in the slanting to go right to left instead of the typical left to right. Once this was changed again (only 1 axis is affected), then there was either no change or the laser head engraved the same line over and over.

In general, I believe the vendor settings are all messed up, or the controller box is broken.

So if someone happens to have a machine with the same motherboard (and version), etc., it could solve my problems, if yours is working properly.

problem solved, the controller box was bust. changed it and no more issues.

where did you you get a new controller from ?

Also, do you have a manual for V8 of the software ?
I have V8 software, but V6 maunal, and there are bits missing from the manual.

same here, manual is 6, software is 8.
version 6 also works, i normally use V6, as it has an illustrator plugin that i need
new controller via seller, in exchange for old one that was broken.

I am not working with or for Shenhui, I have one, and am a user. so I don't know more then you do.
I did find a website where you can download V8 of the software. Dont remember it atm, try googeling for the name with the version number, might come up.
site is chinese only, use google translate to navigate.

use at own risk. seems basckwards compatable to V6, but don't know if controller made for V6 can work with V8, it might brick the controller.

RDWorks is V8.0.21. Whats is RDWorks? Is it for a particular Laser Cutter or CNC?

welche vendor settings waren denn die richtigen. und haben Sie die neue Box einfach angeschlossen und hochfahren lassen? Habe eine neue eingebaut und die Motoren machten laute ungesunde Geräusche und die Maschine lief nach unten rechts und wollte über den Anschlag hinaus.
Haben Sie die selbe Erfahrung gemacht?

Hello everyone.

I was wondering if you could help me with some issues i am facing with an SH350 50W CO2 laser.

Lately the laser wouldnt fire although the tube was relatively new.
Not from the pulse button.
I have ordered and replaced the laser power supply and now i can cut at certain speeds but the laser does not power off when returning back to the origin leaving a visible line (using RDworks).

I have issues with engraving.
If it starts engraving the the laser does not full turn off while passing over an area where there is nothing to engrave. Only the outlines of shapes or letters have deeper shade.

Is the motherboard/ control board fried?
Furthermore, when i turn off the machine from the emergency button or the main power, i can see a laser pulse.

Any help will be greatly apreciated

if so, the dimensions of the graphic are the same as those you cut.

You set the controller to its defaults without saving the settings. The controller defaults are not the machine defaults.

ShenHui support should be able to send you the base settings
