Question Trouble finding / looking for spindle motor for homemade CNC

Hey guys I'm a first timer here!

I'm looking for help on finding a spindle motor or some sort of alternative which I may not know about for a somewhat rugged, 3-axis, homemade CNC router. I have all of my 8020 (?) aluminum beams, linear rails with blocks, adapter plates, slides / sleds, etc. I'm just stuck on finding and choosing a motor suitable for my needs.

To give you an idea, I attached a SolidWorks render of the whole design with all measurements being 99.9% accurate at the bottom of this post.

    What I'm looking for:

    • I have a lot of ER16 bits already, so that'd be best.
    • Must be able to change RPM via some interface, or to a computer / driver board.
    • Preferably air-cooled.
    • Comes with mounting bracket / clamp for motor.
    • Total cost preferably less than $300, ideally around $200 - shipping included

Thanks for any help in advance, I really appreciate it!

You can go with a larger router with Precise Bit's collets for perhaps your budget, or you go to $600ish for a nice spindle from UgraCNC.
Collets, Nuts and Toolholders you can see what they offer and lookup the models...
Conversely, you can go with a VFD driven spindle, and have something a few notches better than a router...
