Hi all.
I currently have come across a problem at work and wondered if any one could help me?
We machine medium to large sealing rings made out of super duplex F55 forgings, which generally are difficult to rough out without using a 15 degree tool. We do not have CADCAM software yet - but are looking at getting it soon. Therefore all my programs are long hand.
Programming long hand without cycles is a real PITA as sometimes I have 150 lines to input which I could narrow down if I was able to use canned cycles.
When roughing down a turned face, programming long hand I have to back off Z on every depth of cut (due to the 15 degree tool), leaving a stepped profile which I then semi finish & finish with a knife tool.
My question is:
Is there any way I can stop the canned cycle from going to the same Z on each pass and get it to back off 1.5mm each pass?
I hope this makes sense, FYI the part I am producing are boss forgings, with a big diameter and a small diameter, pretty simple stuff. I just want to make the programming easier!
Thanks in advance!
Patrick
