I'm in the process of converting a PM-30MVL to CNC and a friend at work has a friend who's selling a Smithy 1240. It's in good shape and hasn't been used much. It was used only for hobbies. He's offering it for $6500 (I'm going to counter at $6k), and includes some collets, tormach tool holders, vise, parallels, and some basic tooling. I know the history of the machine, so I'm pretty confident it hasn't been abused. Is this a good price? I might be able to get around $4k for my PM-30MVL once it's fully converted. Thoughts?
