    Strange Problem?

Hey I am having an issue and I don’t know what is wrong. I just finished my Joes 2006 cnc and just getting things moving.

Basically when I use the pendant (Usb Shuttle Pro) to move the cnc around it moves great (250ipm on the X). When I load the roadrunner in mach3 and do a no contact run the machine sounds sickly mainly the X axis. What I mean by sickly is that I am not getting that normal high pitch, it is more of a low pitch. It seems like it doesn’t have enough power. I am only running the program at 60ipm. At 120ipm the X gets a bit jittery. It just doesn’t sound right.

I thought I might have had a bad power supply since it would move fine one axis at a time fine but would sound like it was bogged down/low on power when all 3 axis are running. I swapped out the power supply with (2) 24v 6.5A switching power supplies. X got it’s own power supply. Didn’t make a difference.

I am running out of ideas. Any help would be great.

    Re: Strange Problem?

My machine doesn't sound right when I am running a program. It sounds like it is running low on power. It sounds fine when I am just jogging one axis at a time even at the same speed as the feed rate running in the program. I have checked everything that I can think of. I will have to make a video so you can hear what I am talking about.
