i have read up on all the code for making an arc but everything I have seen uses R or I J K in the code. I see no way on my MDI to input an R. What am I missing?
Thanks for any help

I think the Bridgeport control was limited to IJK to define arc centers.

so then do i use the x y z buttons again as the i j k. there are no i j k buttons so i guess that would have to be it. i will go try and report back.
Matt
doesn't work. here is what I was trying
G17 (XY axis) G02 (cw arc) x.xxx y.yyy (endpoint) x.xxx (for I) y.yyy (for J)
can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Matt
Did you give it a feedrate?
Software For Metalworking

i didn't explicitly give that block a feedrate but i had a feedrate set prior to that block. g2 and 3 work similar to g1 where it uses the last specified feedrate if one is not specified for that block correct?
i can try giving it a feedrate in the same line tomorrow after work.
Thanks for helping
Matt
Example line from a program for Arc
N20G3X****Y****I****J****F100
The X,Y,Z and N keypad doubles up as the I,J,K and T.
The above works on Boss 5
Good Luck
Dave
so you are saying
N20G3X****Y****X****Y****F100
should get me an arc?
i'll try it tonight.
THanks for the help
Matt
i'm cutting arcs! thanks for all the help. turns out what works is this:
G02 Xx.xxx Yy.yyy XX(I)i.iii YY(J)j.jjj Fff
Matt
to use "I" on that control you would press the "x" button twice and the machine will change it to a "I" on its own like for instance if you ar using a "j" value type the "y" button twice and the machine will know that you are entering a "j" value (that is a bridgeprt textron control its old school but its accurate)
