I bought a VMC 760/22 and I need to remove the casting between the column and the Z-axis motor to get it under a beam in the shop. I think this means I'll have to remove the ballscrew thrust bearings.

I've read the preload spec for the X-axis is .003" of stretch in the ballscrew. Is this the same for the Z-axis screw?

Does anyone have a copy of a repair manual for this machine?
