Hi All,
I'm currently making a small 2 part mold that is to be dowelled together, the holes for the dowels are to be reamed to Ø4, however the part also needs to be carburised. I'm concerned the carburising will throw off the hole diameter, what's the best way of making this hole? I'm thinking of carburising the part first, then drill and chamfering with carbide tools, and finish off with a HSS reamer. Any other ideas? The material is 080A15 (equivalent to SAE 1016) and it will be case hardened to a depth of approximately 0.5mm.
Thanks
