    Idea I had

    Is it possible to use a joy stick type switch for a probing tool.I admit to not knowing a thing about probing but it is an idea I've had about it for some time now. What can be said for it. Comments

    I reckon it would work, but accuracy and repeatability may pose an issue.
    Suppose it would come down to how well made the joystick type switch is ie: how much slop in the stick mechanism etc

    Something that may be a little more accurate is the red button on IBM laptop keyboards. Just minute pressure operates it. I would think it would be pretty simple to add a probe end on it. Lots of those type keyboards on Ebay for nearly nothing.
