How are you attaching your Spoil Board

    Hello everyone,

I have my CRP 4848 router completed and running but I'm looking for some suggestions on how you guys are doing your Spoil Boards. I currently have a 3/4" sheet of cabinet grade plywood attached to my cross members and I plan on putting a piece of 3/4" MDF on top of that for the spoil board. I've designed the hole patten in my V-Carve Pro software for my hold down threaded inserts and I'm just waiting for my set of precision collets to arrive so I can start drilling.

My question is, How are you attaching the MDF down?

I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

I use countersunk bolts running into t-nuts on the underside of the ply.

My MDF spoilboard with threaded inserts is glued down. I have the hole layout in CAD, so that when it get's close to the inserts, I can just glue a new piece of MDF on top, and route the holes over the inserts.

I am connecting the trim/bearing guards to the MDF then countersinking 9 M8 bolts through the MDF to the base frame. In all the corners and through the middle. Then I will have the CNC cut a grid of holes that I will run threaded inserts into. right not the MDF with the trim is such a tight fit you need to tap it with a block of wood and a mallet to move it.
