    Hello

I am new to the programming with the multi axes functions... I would need your help!
In my case I want to mill a propeller with a 4th axes and I have selected the function “Rotation”.

It all worked well but I would like to rough it beforehand with an end mill because I can’t immediately take off the whole material with a ball cutter. However the function “Rotation” only supports one ball cutter.

Can anybody help me and tell me what function I can use for the roughing process?

    Appreciate any kind of help!

    Kind regards
    Fabian

    Hello Wolle_1,
Simply set up 3+2 and 3x roughing

Well I would pre-rough with a milling head over OptiRough- first the standard job and then 3+2 with the residual material with the rougher over the Z constant for example, or contour... you have to have a look...

    Many thanks for your help

I have tried out the Optirough function already but I did not manage to program the rotational axis (4th axis) . There is the setting “rotation type” but it did not work with that.
With the 3+2 can I also only take one ball cutter, can’t I?

    Kind regards
