    Meshcam and CNC Lathes

Downloaded a copy of Meshcam today because I'm sort of looking around for a new CAM package. Will Meshcam work on a CNC lathe?

Everything I find on-line only references mill work.

    Thanks

    Mike

No, it doesn't do lathes. It can do indexed 4 axis, but that's it.

You could try making the profile you want to cut into a grove in a block, set meshcam to just do the pencil cleanup pass, and it will give you just the g-code for that path. There are two ways I can think of to do this, for low precision just draw the object profile in an image and use meshcam's image function, for higher precision, use a cad package to draw it and then cut it into a block.
