Guten Tag!

I don't speak German so please excuse the English post...

I have a 2008 Chevalier QP2040-L with a Siemens 810D Powerline Panel.

Versions as follows:
Shopmill 06.04.12.00,
PCU20,
Caldera DOS 7.03,
6FC5450-GAY03-5AH0,
System 06.05.37-CCU3E

Can I add the facility to load/run programs from USB by plugging in a driverless Floppy emulator device which uses SDHC memory?
These are what I have in mind http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/

I have opened the access hole on the side of the control panel and there is an unused Floppy Drive socket waiting to be used. It seems that all I need to do now is find the floppy power connector inside the panel. I know driverless is easiest to do as doesn't involve writing custom drivers. I don't know if this will work on Caldera DOS though. Has anyone done this before?

Also, how difficult is it to update shopmill/hmi software & cycles to latest releases? Can a programmer achieve this or does it require a Siemens/Chevalier Technician?

Any help appreciated,

John
