Do you have an encoder on your spindle? We have spindle orient on all of our lathes. I'm not sure of the parameters for the OTD controller, but with a 16 and 18 series we turn on bit 2 for par. 4001 and use par. 4077 to adjust the position. This is for using the M19.

If you have constant surface feed or threading, then you would have an encoder.

It still does not guarantee you have spindle orient though

Here is some spindle parameters, look at 80.2 but I am positive it has to be set up in the PMC as an M code.

help needed for FANUC 0TD control

    Dear sir,
I am Srikrish from India, recently I purchased a used small turning centre with FANUC 0TD control system, I didn't receive any manuals related to fanuc 0TD from the previous owner of the machine, Now I am not able to run the machine since I purchased the machine, the machine is showing a message like this.

    1) RUN FROM I/O
    2) RUN
    3) RUN WITHOUT LADDER

    PRESS 1-3 KEY

If I press 2, the machine is showing LADDER DOES NOT EXISTS.

if I press 3, the machine is displaying an alarm "401 SERVO VRDY OFF" if I reset the alarm the machine is entering the POS page and displays the X 0.000 and Z 0.000 axis position, but I am noty able to change the operating mode of the machine the machine remains in MDI mode only, and I am not able to change the operating mode to AUTO, ZRN, EDITJOG etc., The mode changing switch is of a button type and not a Rotary switch type like the keypad in the CRT unit of FANUC display, But I am having the machine's original NC parameter and DIAGNOSIS parameter in a paper, I tried resetting the parameter by pressing RESET and DELET during POWER ON and tried to enter the parameters, the machine is accepting the NC parameters but not accepting the DIAGNOSIS parameters. A friend of mine told me to enter the 900 series parameter first and then switch OFF the machine and restart and then to enter the NC parameter from 0001, and then to enter the DIAGNOSIS parameter, I tried that also but the machine is not accepting the DIAGNOSIS parameter.

So please help me to run the machine, If possible please send me the parameter and maintenence manual for FANUC 0TD, and also let me know whether the machine will run without LADDER, if not possible please send me the LADDER program for FANUC 0TD and also the method of inputting the LADDER to FANUC 0TD.

Please help me at the earliest, as I am not able to RUN the machine for the last 3 months, since i purchased tha machine.

    Thanking you in Advance.
