    Z axis balance springs...

    This has removed most but not all of the weight from the lead screw... Much faster acceleration and no more shut down from missed steps ( I have leadshine digital drives with stall detection)..used springs I had in my junk box...think I got them from Home Depot...

    The material you used for the bracketing what is it called. I tried to find some here in Seattle but had no luck. The only thing I could find was called Super Strut and that is way to large . The U channel is what I am looking for.

    It is steel from parking garage mirrors...they didnt use it so I snatched all I could get...
