We have 2 older worn out knee mills 3hp and 2hp
Looking for something a bit bigger and possible CNC options.

This is a prototype shop, mostly steel parts.

Suggestions on brands I should be looking at?
Prefer higher quality machine.

It is your only solution for an American made machine.

However they don't have something that would optimally replace a Bridgeport in a prototype shop. Unless you are extremely good at off the cuff CNC mill operation having good manual capabilities in a mill is important. I'd consider one good Bridgeport clone, possibly cNC'ed along with a largish CNC bed mill.
