He started the widget Wednesday last week, after YouTube pretty much told him to, lol. He makes quite a bit of money off YouTube vids. Tormach sponsored him a few weeks ago

My crap. New machine should be installed in my garage within the next month, so you guys will have to be OK with watching it.

Not a tormach, doesn't belong in this thread.

Giving all your videos thumbs down!

    haha that's fine.

It was actually really nice to take video of the PM45 because you could get really tight. It's much harder to get good video with coolant everywhere and doors closed. Have to buy a GoPro and figure out some interesting mounting. I ran my Contour camera inside the machine at work, but quality of image sucks on the contour.

I've had a moral hangup of trying to actually make money with any videos by running ads. But maybe I should give in.

    Oh no doubt.

I don't think folks truly appreciate the mess that even 100psi coolant creates hitting a 2.5" dia tool holder turning at 6000rpm makes, let alone the CLOUD your shop becomes when its 1500psi @10k thru tool. I gave up on that a while back.

And on a more serious note, I fully support the notion of this thread. There's a lot of people making cool stuff, whether in their garage on a tormach or their shop on a vmc, and they're ridiculously fragmented. Somehow the 3D printer ("Maker") crowd has this figured out, why can't we?

we need some sort of website to hangout and share stuff?

I'm putting in a mist collector in hopes of keeping things as best as can be in my small space, I also got the TSC prep so I'm good to go later if I want to. I'd like to be able to get some good quality video from inside the machine some how.

    I think so..

We've got a 'Mini ME' mist eliminator on one of my machines.. The name is far more clever than the engineering, it works great when it works, but that's virtually never..

I have a lil' channel with machining videos...
    Hirudin01 - YouTube

My videos aren't as good as the ones from the guys above, but they do show things being machined...

I'm using a Torus Pro in all my current videos, but I think jid2 and I will have something in common before too long.

Only one of my videos has my Tormach in it, but they're all machining-oriented.

I'm looking forward to cranking up some HD video of some operations then rocking out nice product via my friend Camtasia. Whenever I do consulting I am constantly putting together training with that suite. It's about time I get that bad boy doing something with youtube! Slightly off topic, but I know everyone here wants to learn something. Have any of you guys ever checked out Jody Collier's WeldingTipsandTricks.com?? I've been welding for a lot of years and this guy has put together some AWESOME shots of TIG, MIG and Stick welding techniques that really are amazing! He just nails it so if any of you have an interest in welding, or have been frustrated by a material you can probably check his stuff out and get set on the right path. Here's his channel

Hahah! If all goes as planned I'll have fancy Brother mill in my garage. Your videos played no small part of my decision-making process. While I'm on that subject: thanks for posting them!
