Sorry I don't have any pics now. I was able to make my first movements on my machine yesterday. It was the coolest feeling to see it come to life. I learned some lessons while I was at it too. The first lesson came by getting a better understanding of Mach 3. My second lesson came when I tried to move the X axis. I spliced the cables for the dual drive R&P steppers but found out that the two motors wanted to go in opposite directions. Rewired and separated the two motors and made the A axis on the G540 a slave to the X through Mach3. Still wanted to go backwards of one another until I reversed the wiring on one motor.
I also learned that to drive 4 motors that I need a bigger power supply. Never could get my Y axis to go until I attached the cable to the A port on the G540. After turning everything off and coming back later I did get the Y axis to move, but only until I moved one of the other axes. That's when I thought it through and studied it to find that I need a 48v 12.5amp power supply.
So far I'm pleased.
