    Need Help with large relay

    Attachment 247186

Hello I am attempting to setup a relay to control my dust vac and am having problems that make no sense to me. My older machine has a cnc4pc relay board I setup so I purchased one for the new machine however it was not heavy enough for the load(no starting capacitor) kill a watt shows it draws 60 amps on start up briefly so I purchased a 80 amp nominal ssr relay off amazon.

With the input connected I get continuity like I am supposed to on the top legs and open when disconnected, so far so good. But when I connect a small load (battery charger) it stays on all the time, when I connect the dust vac the motor turns over slowly and the extension cord gets hot. I had thought originally that my relay was bad or it was just overloaded however this is my third relay and am still unable to get it to work.

You have a DC type SSR there, if your motors and your battery charger is AC!
You need a AC SSR output type.

Amazon lists some as being DC -AC and AC -AC I am guessing the second one is correct?

You need low voltage DC control (input) and AC output (motor).
    Yours shows DC - DC.
