Unhappy Dynatorch XLS 4x8 & Hypertherm Powermax 125A cutting pauses

    Hey all!

First time post, and only been on this forum for a short time. Lots of great CAM and machine info here! Definitely a valuable resource!!

Sooooo. I consult for a buddies metal working shop and he recently bought a Dynatorch XLS 4x8 with a Hypertherm Powermax 125A. Initially it seemed to work fairly well. However we started to notice a pause in the cutting between 4 and 5 inches of total cut length into a program. It only happens when the torch is on, and initially only happened at the higher amperages (105, 125). But then started to rear it's ugly head at 65A and 45A, making the table and torch kinda useless for parts that will be seen (leaving a hole where it paused during the cut). We've been going back and forth with Hypertherm and Dynatorch quite a bit for the past couple weeks, but can't seem to stop it. The Hypertherm rep in our area came out, check everything on his end and gave us the clear on the torch. Dynatorch sent us cable magnets for all of the cables on the table, including one for the ground on the Hypertherm. Our computer is 6 feet away from the Hypertherm. The exhaust fan doesn't make a difference (on or off), and we've gone through all the USB settings again and again. We've lubed the torch axis jack screw, and replaced the entire torch axis head. We've gone through our entire grounding ecosystem with 2 electricians, they both agree that it is sound. :/

Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on the matter? Has anyone else had a similar issue? We're running the latest published Dynatorch software version, and the latest Dynatorch USB/fiber module drivers. Any response would be appreciated. Apologies if this has already been posted, did a search but haven't come up with anything.

    Thanks!!
