    What is a M3P extension

Has anyone downloaded and installed the contour shuttlepro pendant program from the machsupport site. The plugin has a m3p extension and when I click "open" as the directions say, windows does not recognize the file extension and the program will not install. What am I doing wrong??? Using windows XP and downloading the software into a scratch directory until I understand it. Help!

Try putting it in the Mach3/plugins directory, and double click the file. It installed here just fine. It deleted the original .m3p file and createds a .dll

    Question

I download the Joystick plug-in from http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/artsoft/plugin.htm It's a m3p file. I put it inside plugins directory I double clicked it, but there is no association with any application so the windows can open it.
Can you help me with that? How mach3 installs those plugins?

Re: What is a M3P extension

I know this is old but it was not answer but it somewhat helped me find a solution.

The M3P is suppose to install when you double click and replace the M3P file with the .dll file plug in, but like a few others, that did not happen for me. It would just ask what program to use to open it and that would not help. I tried changing the extension to .dll but nothing changed. The M3P is suppose to use the M3Plug application in the Mach3 folder when you double click the M3P file, but if it does not, just go to open with... browse for programs and find your Mach3 folder, find the M3Plug application and open the M3P with that, it should install the .dll file and delete the M3P file.

Oh and this is the link where I found m3p is suppose to use the M3Plug application to install itself which led me to the solution
