we just our plasma cam 5x10 up and running now to keep the smoke in the shop to a minimum . what works the best water table or down draft ? both have there pros and cons . our table is set up on the back side of our shop but in the middle of the shop also not on an out side wall It is very vital to keep the as much smoke out of the shop as possible Any suggestions or advise would be helpful pic's of your setup's would also help . thank you for the help .

My preference is water as well. You do need to keep the water right up at the bottom of the material otherwise it won't be very effective. The water tends to evaporate fairly quickly so it is something that needs to be constantly monitored. I also like that the water keeps the parts relatively cool and easy to handle after cutting.

You will also need to add an anti-bacterial and anti-corrosion chemical to the water. Last year we were concerned about what we were breathing when the water evaporates. It prompted us to do some research and we came up with a product called Green Cut. It is expensive but they claim it is safe to breath unlike some of the other chemicals used. It also has a nice smell to it.
