    Sodick alignment block

    Im new to wire edm, im being trained at work now. We have a mark 25 machine i was being shown how to align the wire and noticed a hole and ground slot on the bottom of the block> Iwas wondering what this was used for? The hole looks likre its just drilled be the slot is finished. Thanks

    the slot in block is used to calculate where the lower die (diamond)position in relation to the table top. it uses that data for calculating precision angles and draft angle so that they are at the angle that you programed. you should have a program in the machine named taperdata or something like that. lode program and there are instructions at the top of program. if no program,you should be able to down lode from sodick. good luck!
