    Calculating Milling cutting speed.

    Hello

For my thesis i need to design a fixture for a milling operation. To design it, i need to have the cutting force for the milling machine to optimize all the geometric parameters. The spec given to me
    are:

    Milling condition:END MILLING
    spindle speed- 3000 rpm
    feed- 500 mm/min
    depth of cut- 2 mm
width of cut - 6 mm

    TOOL:
    Cutter dai- 10 mm
    cutter - Solid carbide
    4 flute
    nose radius- 0.5 mm

    MMR= d.o.c *w.o.c * feed
MMR found to be 6000 mm3/min

hi, you can use this formula N=1000xVc/3.14xd

    Re: Calculating Milling cutting speed.

    hi
Thank you for your reply. I have calculated using the following procedure
    Step 1 : calculate MMR
Step 2 : Calculate spindle hp= MMR* Unit power Attachment 255942
unit power can be assumed from the attachment
Step 3: Calculating the torque (in lb)= (Spindle hp*63030)/RPM
    Step 4: Using torque equation T=(Force* D.o.c)/2
    can calculate force...
    is this procedure is feasible?
