Issue with Mach 3 Speed when running 4 Axis

    Gentlemen,

I am using Bobcad v25 4 axis. Please take a look at my program that was generated by Bobcad v25. I have tried to run it but the speeds are forever slow. Bobcad tells me there is nothing that they can see that would not run with mach 3. They say that it probably is a mach configuration problem. The simulated program would take over 3 days to run. I look forward to hearing back from you guys. The machine does not have controller controlled spindle.

In Config>Toolpath, make sure you check "Use Radius for Feedrate".

On the settings page, you need to set the "rotation diameter". This is actually the distance from the center of rotation to Z=0. If Z zero is the center of rotation, enter .001. If Z zero is at the surface of your part, then enter the part radius.

    Ger,

I tried your suggestion and still having issues with the speeds not reading correctly. Do you have any other suggestions. I am using Bobcad v25 4 axis to write programs. This particular program was written in a Bobcad seminar I attended 2 weeks ago. Bobcad still says it is a Mach configuration problem. Ger I truly appreciate your help, experience and feedback with Mach in an effort to rectify my problem.

    Sincerely,

That program is written In inverse time feed mode (;-) . I am not even SURE that mach3 can do it correctly anymore.

Have them rewrite your post for a standard 4th axis code and THEN set up Mach3 as Ger21 suggested and I think you will be fine. Everything will run normal with speeds.

Otherwise with G93 who knows ??

    (;-) TP
