Your main responsibilities as a Design Engineer (Structures)

We are looking for Design Engineers with structural experience to help us support some of the most advanced warships in the world.

This role will offer the successful candidates the opportunity to be part of and help shape the future support of world class vessels driving through best value for the customer, using innovative and technical experience to provide a high quality service and deliver high performance. You will undertake a range of detail design activities for MOD and commercial vessels and be provided with strong training and development opportunities.

Producing and developing CAD based designs in line with customer specifications and applicable quality and technical standards and produce supporting documentation.

Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team.

Support the development of best practice to increase the capability, performance of tools and processes.

Keep up to date in relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide more effective services and supply technical support and expertise to others as required.

Your skills and qualifications

CAD Design experience is essential

Experience in engineering or a defence or related industry would be ideal but by not essential

Typically ONC/OND qualified, likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline.

This is a full time role and will be based in our Portsmouth Naval Base.
