I can't get rid of splines!!

This is my first post so bear with me. I'm using adobe illustrator, autocad lt/2000 and mach3 with lazycam. I'm trying to outline images in illustrator and open them in lazycam but when I do lazycam says contains splines, splines will be ignored and nothing shows up. Same thing happens when I type text on illustrator. I've tried saving as an esp, dwg, dxf still the same result. I've also tried editing the splines in autocad. I've found how to change polylines into splines but not splines to polylines and even if I type text in autocad it doesn't show up in lazycam either. I have done a logo sketch with autocad, everything hand drawn in the logo showed up but the font didnt.

There are ways to do splines and text with full AutoCAD, but not with LT.

However, you can convert splines to polylines by saving as version 12 .dxf from LT. When you reopen the .dxf, the splines should be changed to polylines.

As for text, the easiest way is to import the text into AutoCAD from something like this. http://www.freefirestudio.com/outline.htm
