    Way stains Normal?

The other day, when I went out to the garage to use my lathe, I noticed the ways had some stains on them where the way oil (chainsaw way oil) had polled. I know it’s not rust, because I‘m really anal about keeping everything covered in oil to protect it from moisture; plus there was still liquid oil overtop where the stain was. I also cover the machine with a grill cover when I’m not using it.

The two questions I have are:
    1. This won’t affect the accuracy of the machine will it? I’m almost positive it won’t but since I’m a newbie I thought I should ask.
    2. Is this kind of thing pretty normal?

I wouldn't be worried, but i would be curious. My 10EE, built in 1941, has yet to have any stains on the ways. I use way oil, but I think its the same as chain saw bar oil.
