I'm trying to figure out what the SX1, 2, and 3 is for in this circuit. I am thinking it must be their way of regulating the current to the steppers. I know the ACC card has something to do with current regulating.

I found it, it is a saturable core reactor. This website gives a good explanation: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_2/chpt_9/7.html. Am I correct in saying that chopper circuits have replaced this technology? Must be why newer drives are so much smaller, these reactors take up a lot of space.
