    limit switches on slaved axis

Seeking clarification on slave channel limit switches here,
I have a router which I am fitting kflop to which uses 2 motors on the x-axis to drive the two leadscrews, I am intending to use two drivers for the 2 motors, and to drive them from 2 channels from the kflop, one slaved from the other, what I would like to know is how to setup the limit switches, do I have to have 1 limit switch input for each of the 4 switches, or just two with the + and – switches wired together? Kmotion only allows the use of 1 limit switch input per channel so if I use 4 inputs with two of the switches on the slaved channel will these correctly stop the master channel as well?
I can use as many of the inputs as I need to as I don’t have too many other needs for them so theres no problem there, but having them independent or coupled makes a difference as to how I setup the homing program as I will need to un-slave one of the axis to get them to individually set home and then re-slave for operation, having two independent switches would make this slightly easier.

    Thanks,

    Rich.

Re: limit switches on slaved axis

    Hi Rich,

I think the simplest would be to use 2 inputs. One pair of switches wired in series for the positive end and one for the negative. Then assign both the Master and Slave to use the same inputs.

KFLOP doesn't automatically disable the other Master or Slave when one hits a limit. You could accomplish this with a watchdog type of C Program if you prefer.

Thanks for the clarification Tom, I'll use a single input for both axis,

    thanks again,

    Rich.
