    Which CNC to purchase??????

I've finally decided to make the switch from my shopmaster tri-power to a much better machine. I'm looking at 3 different units-1. Monarch VMC45a, has Funac 15M control and X=26-30" Y=16-20" Z=26-30" with 4th axis rotary table. Unit mfg in 1992 and has 78 toolholders incl. + Heidenhain glass scales, Funac red cap AC servo motors. Siemans spindle motor and drive. Machine wt, is 19K lbs + 4500 lbs on the pallet loader & indexer & 40 ATC. Lots of extras spindle speed to 3500rpm
    #2 machine is a Mori-Seiki partner M-300A1, mfg in 1991. Has 16" 4th axis rotary table ATC=24 X=10-15" Y= 10-15" Z+16-20". spindle speed to 6000 rpm w/ funac MF-M4 CNC control.
    #3 Matsuura MC-510VS mfg in 1989 w/ Yaznac MX-3 control. X=20" Y=14" Z+18". 10K spindle speed. No 4th axis & 20 ATC.

I'm milling mostly aluminum but hope to get into some steel later.
I'm looking to get the best possible machine for the best price, #1 machine is around $22K, #2 will go around 12K and #3 is 24K. Look for input from others as to which is the better buy and will work the best.

    thanks in advance,
    Ben

I havent worked with any of these machines before so I can't help you on how they run/operate. But if you are mostly machining aluminum you are going to want to get something with a high speed spindle so you are able to run your tools at a more proper RPM and higher feed rate.

    Question Why Matsuura?

the Matsuura is really a nice machine but has no 4th axis, which from everything I can find will really be very expensive, above $8000 to add.
