I bought my machine used and have never had the correct manual for it. I am needing to do work on my tool changer but do not have the manual with my Yasnac MX3. Furthermore, I can not find the serial number for my machine. The tech I have had out seems to think that this particular machine came straight over from Japan and for some reason never had a serial number. Does this sound correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Usually they still have a serial number, however I've seen some grey market machines that tags were removed. Mori can email you the ATC parts list, pretty common machine. Only real failure on those were bent ATC claws and broken cam bearings from tool changing after a crash in z.

Mori is telling me they won't give me any info without a serial number!!!

That's no good. Look on the casting under the rear of the machine. I've seen some stamped in there. It will say mfg xxx or houses and trees with a 3 digit. That machine should be at most a 3 digit mfg number. ( they didn't use ser# until later machines)

Call Mori back, be polite. Explain that you simply dont have a serial number They need a serial number to start a ticket, before they forward you to an engineer. Be nice, and explain the situation, and I PROMISE they will help you, if they dont message me and i will give you the email and cell number of the VP in charge of service.
