So i drew up a rectangle and added some fillets to the edges. i cant figure out how to chain the lines so i can profile the part. i tried trimming the lines but that didn't seem to help?

I tried that. Maybe its the way I drew it that's causing problems. After I drew my rectangles I added fillets to corners. I then tried to trim 2 entities and its not joining them.

If you are still having problems upload a .zip with a .bbcd file.

When is selection mode a shift left click is a chain select. If your profile doesn't select all the way around then it's not chained. So where ever the selection stopped is where the problem is. Because it's a simple rectangle just redraw it and use the fillet option. If you are still having problems post your files so we can look at it.

mill top profile is the feature where i have some rectangular shapes drawn. i left click on a line and it doesn't continue around the profile. i need to click on each line to create a chain around it. i'm missing something super simple i'm sure!!

i tried cleanup/optimize. didn't see it do anything. does it automatically do the cleanup or do i need to choose the parts of drawing to optimize? i tried putting window around the profile and clicked ok. when i select contour only option for toolpath I can't choose any lines.

I downloaded your file didn't see any geometry on it. drew a rectangle and put fillets in the corners. Trimmed those. I could not chain any of the geometry. So I clicked cleanup/optimize and selected all geometry and clicked ok. Did this twice. Then I could chain the geometry.

Could be a combination of things. Have you downloaded the latest build from BobCad?

Ya. V27 Build 1547 and I when I open there isn't a material selected AND the stock wizard doesn't seem to know what the geometry is. Either way, as soon as I set both of those and I touch the feature by selecting geometry BobCad crashes. This is an issue you should report or get someone from BobCad on the phone and show them what is happening. I have to say, never seen that one before.

it's all about being UP TO DATE

Hopefully BoB policy will change. It has been very detrimental on the Forums solving problems.
Also, makes it tricky to figure out if I should Upgrade now or wait until the last update for the version is out.And when, what is the last update ? Has it happened already?
