You mean program it? Lap was not something you turned on or off, simply programmed it.

as far as I know, all the 5020l's had basic LAP cycles. If you are using the std G85 LAP roughing cycle, and it says no spec like that, it would require new software and re-load to get it. Probably not worth that kind of money.

I'm guessing you don't have user task 2 that is why it doesn't work. I have a couple of okuma lathes that don't have it so I can't used the canned cycles.

That would be software, so you'd have to go to your dealer.

Yep, no lap option then. Would probably end up being cheaper to buy a computer and CAM software then getting the software and getting it loaded. Maybe we should start a pool on how much overpriced Okuma will be. Im guessing $4K for the software and 1K for the service call.

we should start an archive of software. I backed up all my floppies (3 1/2" for OSP7000) a year ago.
