PLEASE HELP CNC wont move through computer!

    Hello eveyone,

Really hoping someone can help solve this problem. I bought a CNC machine 2 months ago and have tried everything to get it to work with Mach3 through my computer. The machine works fine with the hand held remote control but wont jog at all through the computer or run test g code cut as in the cnc doesnt move. I have not set up my table demensions yet not sure if that matters and not sure how to do that. Also when i try to jog the machine Mach 3 shows the x, y moving but cnc doesnt move.

    Details

    3020 Machine
    Controller JY5300-2
    Software Mach 3 with Lic
Computer Dell desk top 32bit windows 7 with parallel port

I went into the bios and set parallel port to ECP mode as per the intructions

Here are some screen shots so you can see my settings, fyi i have tried a bunch of settings this is where i gave up lol.

Seems like the control is fine if the hand help jog control is working...

This is a little worrisome to me, all CNC machines need to have a 0 point or "machine zero" as I was taught. This is where all your "work offsets" or "part zeros" relate too. and this is definitely related to the axis travel, example the machine knows X has 20" Y has 10" Z has 6" ...

Typically G28 X0 Y0 Z0 does this for you in MDI mode.... ON something like a Haas, your machine zero is all ready set up at the factory and you can just hit the return to home button...

    Hi Hoffmannm,

I had a guy call me and spend hours on the phone we were able to get it working. The problem was i did not have a usb cable plugged in which provides the 5v power to move motors. I was thinking that plug was for a hand held controller.

I have spent 3 days troubleshooting a JY5300 at my university and was this close to giving up on the whole thing, but this did the trick! Thank you so much!
