Any wood pattern makers in Canada? I need
3 patterns made for grey iron castings. They are medium sized, the biggest piece measures at 20 wide x 50 long x 10 inches high.
It's definitely a dying art here in this country.

it is an art , I hate seeing casting shops going out of business and all the cool wooden patterns thrown away......

I could use some patterns made too !

I'm presently away from home. I'll provide
a drawing via private message to interested parties just as soon as I get back.
the first pattern will be the column of a VMM.vertical mwilling machine.
it would need to be made of hardwood as production casting of 25 pc's is to start by mid June.
I really can't afford screw ups, so experience in the processes of iron casting is paramount.

The foundry here takes care of the flues and gates etc....
They expect proper draft however and parting lines to be thought of beforehand as they shy away from poor patternmaking.

As you can see, not that simple. Finite element analysis helps with beefing up the structure but is unfriendly to the mold and pattern makers.
In any case, impossible to send private messages to dpryor or slowlearner, your inbox are full.
