    Broaching a square corner on a cnc mill

    Hi,
    I am looking to broach a square corner in A-36 Steel. The slot I am machining finishes 7/8 wide, 1-3/4" deep, 2" high. I am roughing the slot with a 5/8 rougher. I would like to cut the corners square and finish the sides with a 1/2" carbide finisher.I am running an old leadwell MCV 760XL VMC. The part is 16" long, so I want to lay them down rather than standing them up and trying to mill them.Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    If your machine has spindle orientation option you could put a broach w a round shank in the machine orientate the spindle to line up with your area of the square corner,and move z down and step,over .002 and repeat until final dimension is reached....if you have spindle orientation...thats all I got.thats a long way to put in a smaller tool and get the depth too
