Hello,
I'm working on retrofit of an oxyfuel cutting machine and need to do a reduction with pulleys and belt synchronized.

I would like to know how timing belt pulley size and synchronized to make a reduction of 5: 1.

What system are you using for the retrofit?
Is the encoder etc on the motor or the final drive?
It is usually just a case of scaling the feedback element/resolution to whatever the final resolution is?

I'm new to cnc machines, for this I don't know tell you some data.
This machine I'm logging the retrofit is a machine that worked with mcpe photocell as you can see in the attached images.
To perform the retrofit plan to use the Mach3 with two drivers and two motors DQ542MA 57BYGH115-003B do one for the x-axis and one for the y axis with rack and pinion.

I don't know how much resolution to inform would be a good resolution?
