    What toolpath-type do I use?

Hello! Fairly new to the forums, as well to using mastercam.

    I'm going to create a casting-mould.
    I'll be using a Ball-endmill, 6mm

Looks somewhat like this: Click image for larger version.

rough pockets usiing 'surface-rough-pocket'.....for finishing there are lots of options depending on what you want, eg: 'surface-finish-parallel' / 'surface-finsih-radial' / 'surface-finish-flowline'

for finish i would use scallop. since i have been making diecast molds i like the total cutting of scallop.
parallel is more top view and contour is more side cutting. scallop transitions nicely between both.

    for finish operation
select surface finish flowline(be carrefully surface way)select spiral cut and z .1mm after cutting tolerance 0,005.

Since you will only need to 3d mill the bottoms of the dome shape I would use surface finish radial.

if this is a mold then the sides are drafted. also, radial steps over in the top view. since i am now in a moldmaking shop i will be the one who polishes it. with scallop the .01 stepover starts at the top and down the sides and across the bottom, making for easier polishing. if i made this in an aircraft shop i would use parallel and let the deburr guys do their thing.
