    1100 post for hsmxpress?

I have had the tormach for a year now (bought from my company for a good price) but still go over to my manual mill when I need something machined. I need to get out of this rut. I have a solidworks seat (on loan from work) Is there a proven post for hsmxpress for the pcnc1100? I have Sprutcam, but was thinking of starting out with something a little simpler (since only 2d is in my immediate future) and more integrated with solidworks, however if I have to write a post for it than I'm sunk!
    thanks!

Yes. You can download one from the hsmexpress forum or several of us have modified versions. I have a modified version that puts all kinds o notes in the code and etc.

If interested I can send to you, it works great for me, but I give no warranty for anyone else.

    Hi Donald,

Yes, that would be great thanks. I did see a couple of threads on that forum, but it appeared that the post was constantly getting changed by various people for ATC and other things (that I don't have). I was hoping to find something functional of course, but also tried and true.

Attached is my hsmxbress post for a tormach. It seems to be working great for me. I do have to give a shout out to Ray as some of the code in it is his code.

    Re: 1100 post for hsmxpress?

Went through the solidworks - hsmxpress -post - flow for the first time today. I found out that the hsmxpress inbuilt tormach post does not work! I got "radius too small" errors from Pathpilot a number of times. I don't know enough about g code to determine the issue, but it looked to create g3 code with only one qualifier at times. I switched to Donald's version and it works just fine!

Now I have to learn about feeds and speeds, I can see a copy of G-wizard in my future.

Look at HSMAdvisor. It doesn't constantly pester you to download and install updates for itself, and !@#$%^&* Adobe Air. It doesn't require a network connection to work, and I find it gives better results, and doesn't lose its mind and give insanely high feeds at random times.

    Ray L.

Seems a lot more expensive - about the same price per year as the special edition GWizard from Tormach costs in total.

Well.... Call me crazy, but I prefer tools that actually work reliably, and don't force me to do updates I don't need or want before I can use the tool. There was a thread here in the last week or so where quite a few people chimed in and said they'd had the same problems with GWizard I've had. I've never once gotten a bad number from HSMAdvisor, and I've never been forced to take 20 minutes to install updates I didn't want, before I could calculate the feeds and speeds I needed to continue my work.

    Regards,
    Ray L.

Hello, sorry to raise on older thread, but how does one utilize this post processor to generate proper Gcode for the Tormach?

    Thanks,
    J
