I'm running SketchUp v7 on old hardware with Mac OSX 10.6 and just found a plugin that I want to use which is written as a ruby script. However it requires another file called sketchup.rb which I don't have. Can't find it online for download. I guess, given that it's a ruby script, that it'll be the same for Mac or Windows.

If you have this file, perhaps you'd be willing do do me a favour and email it to me?

Actually, I just saw that we can do .txt uploads here so if somebody could change the extension from .rb to .txt it could be uploaded here if that's more convenient for you.

Help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I have v8, not sure if this will help you. Found this file in the tools folder. Changed the extension to txt like you asked.

Thanks bozidar22. It's got to be worth a try. However that script says it also needs langhandler.rb

Sorry to be a pain but do you have that one too? Hopefully that's the last of it.

Can't understand why I don't have them as part of my installation... but I don't!

Many thanks bozidar22 but it turned out that the issue was with something else, not missing files:

I'd seen info to the effect that the ruby script files needed to go into
~/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/SketchUp/Plugins

So I found
/Users/<my name>/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/SketchUp/Plugins
and put them in there. It didn't work.

After the second file you sent me didn't work I was scratching my head and realised that I had another plugin installed which, when I downloaded it again to check, was also ruby script... and that pligin was working... so where the hell had I installed the file?

After much searching I found it in:
/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/SketchUp/Plugins

I put the new plugin in there... and it worked. Doh!

Thanks again for your help. While the files you gave me didn't actually solve my problem, without your help I would have continued to think that was the problem and would never have got to the bottom of this. I now have a working curve stitcher tool. Yay!
