AXYZ Older CNC Router Running Toolpath software

    Hello everyone,

I need some help loading and running a 2 axis program with tool changes on this older machine. The control software interface is toolpath 2.9.03 . When I post my mulit tool program, it seems toolpath will only run 1 tool and ignores the tool changes.

    Any help would be great!

Do you have the automated tool changer? If so like me you still have to tell toolpath the tool # for each group. If your software calculates tool offset like mine (aspire) don't add offset to the tool path interface.

Also in the tool path program you need to move shapes to different groups and designate a cutter position for that colour. I use v carve pro and my .nc files i send over to tool path still need to be set up this way. In the pic the shapes that are red are cut with tool 2 blue tool 3 and so on.. i don't set a tool off set because v carve does that for me unless you tell v carve to cut on the line. Hope I'm not confusing you...

    Mactonto,
Would you have a few minutes to answer a Toolpath question?
    thanks,

Extensive testing resulted in ToolPath evidently has problems with ellipses or arcs.
Plain rectangle object had no issues using multipass function.

There should be a user group for AXYZ cnc routers to share experiences.

I've been running a 4008 ATC for over 7 years with tool path and various 3rd party programs to do the things tool path can't and I've never had a issue with multi pass. Feel free to contact me with any questions i hope i can help... PM would be the best way as I'm not on the form all the time

    Cheers

Re: AXYZ Older CNC Router Running Toolpath software

Ok so here is a question,

It seems like toolpath has a default Z position of 1" above the stock when calling a tool. I have a client that runs this software and when he programs stock that is under an 1" he has no problem. But in this job he was running stock that was 1.5"

    The G code program reads

    G00
    G90
    T8
    ( Tool Description)
    G00 X10.000 Y10.000
    G00 Z1.600

What happens at the machine at the start of the program the tool goes to 1" in Z. As you can see there is no 1" z move programed. To me this means there is some default setup in toolpath to sell the tool where to go in Z once it's called.

Does anyone know where this setting is?

    Thank you for the help!
