I'm so excited that I could almost make a video of how to do this. But, then maybe Al will as he is actually good at it and since I am a BobCad novice (with this I promoted myself from newbie to novice) there might be a better way.
Anyway, I got tabs figured out. I got used to another CAM program that automatically generated tabs and I do miss them on occasion when I need to cut parts that are otherwise difficult to hold in place.
My process goes like this.
Draw the part on one layer.
Copy the profile to a new layer.
Draw some .5 squares where I want the tabs
Break entity where the profile lines hit the squares, and delete away the rest of the square. You use the square to get a nice even .5 break where you want it.
Do one profile that skips the part of the line that was inside of the square and cuts all the way though.
Do another profile that cuts just tab lines down to the depth of cut.
Works perfect.
