I am completely new to sinumerik controls. Just bought a 2005 DeckelMaho DMC 50H with a 840D control. I am trying to figure out how to upload part files from the pc to the cnc.

I am using a 9 pin com port on the pc connected to the 25pin com2 port on the machine side panel. I followed the instruction regarding the speed and other settings.

Can anyone help me with the basic proceedure for downloading a new part file onto the machine. do I need to make a new program on the machine ?

I used the hyper terminal in windows xp and sent the file as a text file nothing happened on the machine.

Any help would be appreciated

The control on the system is a PCU50 unit. I have SinDNC on the controll, does anyone have experience in using that ?

I have just used usb of 1gb for data transfering. But its not working for greater USBs...can any one help me

Do you have usb formatted to FAT32? In my case it works with 32gb usb (FAT32 needed)
