Just received my new Torus PRO CNC Mill to replace my previous Mill which I sold. The new Mill is loaded with the optional Servo Axis Drives, Power Draw Bar, Spindle Braking Resistor, and Fourth Axis Controller.
It has been two years since we bought our last Torus PRO and the improvements are significant:
Much improved stand with the trays draining into a large opening under the Mill. (No more clogged one inch coolant drain – The tray is much stronger and is finally large enough to handle full movement of the X and Y axis without hitting the right side and front of the tray.)
Superior coolant and wash down system (Two 90 watt pumps – one for coolant and one for the wash down hose)
An additional coolant drain for the table. (Located on the left front of the table – On the previous Mill, chips in the table grooves could prevent the coolant from draining from the left side of the table to the drain located on right rear side of the table)
Double chip drawer collection system and coolant recycle tank. (Two tray filters to prevent the finest chips from entering the coolant tank – easily replaceable hose for the coolant sight gauge)
The next generation replacement VFD (the new E550 VFD replaces the C300 which is no longer available) in conjunction with a braking resistor that stops the spindle or changes the spindle RPM in one half second. (Must see it to believe it)
New Novakon BOB that in conjunction with an Arduino processor and Smooth Stepper significantly smooth’s the spindle operation. (No more Mach 3 locks up when the Mill sets idle for an extended period of time)
Much improved powder coated paint for the stand and Mill. (Oil and coolant easily wipe off the Mill and tray surfaces)
Excellent cable and wiring identification and routing.
Additional lubricating for the X-Axis table.
Improved PDB wiring harness. (Fuse protection for the 12V battery)
It is no longer necessary to remove the PDB spindle encoder when removing the draw bar.
