Mach3 unexpected plunge after tool change

Ok new to Mach3 and a Tormach 1100....

Use Haimer to zero x,y,z and then a new tool is loaded
The tool table is correct for both lengths but it seems that the machine want's to plunge at start as if it thinks the tool is much shorter...

If I zero on the tool in the Z it works fine

Any ideas on what I should check?
    thanks

Did you ever get this one figured out? I may be having the exact same problem.

We decided to move to the Tormach PathPilot and it has been 100% good!
It took some time to get use to Path Pilot but in my view it is WAY better than Mach3.

Look for and remove the G43 (length offset) if you don't need it. Check the 'next' Z line after the tool change, make sure it's not changing with regards to the actual tool length and Z clearance.
I've broken more than one expensive cutter with the G43 command being added during the programming phase.

You are doing something wrong if G43 is causing you a problem it should always be in use
