We got two different machines with the same controller Fanuc 16i-M, both are equipped with memory card slot. on one i can choose channel from 0-35 and other only 0-3, to use card is channel nr 4. when i put card in and set to nr 4 machine goes to message on black screen and emergency state. Can someone help with solving that problem?

parameter 20 has the channel value; can you change it there?

i didnt try to change 20. its goes like windows to blue screen but there is black. never read it

i've seen this on the early 16iMA controls. They can't use flash cards, would only read SRAM cards. I remember trying this on a showroom machine when that control first came out.

from the maintenance manual (63005) :
By setting the I/O channel (parameter No. 20) to 4, files on a memory card can be referenced, and different types of data such as part programs,
parameters, and offset data on a memory card can be input and output in text file format.

Can you change parameter 20?

What is the software version on the problem control?
