Alcon,
I could use some help, I recently converted my G0704 to CNC, and was in the middle of cutting my first real part when the Z axis driver stopped working, X&Y were still working.
I'm using the following relative components:
C11 Breakout Board
KL-8070D Digital Stepper Driver (Z Axis)
NEMA 34 - 906 oz/in (Z)
KL-5056D Digital Stepper Driver (X & Y Axis)
NEMA 23 - 570 oz/in (X & Y)
KL-600-48 Switching Power Supply Unit
I will have to double check the microswitch settings, but I am 99% sure I had it set as the following:
8070D
1. off
2. on
3. on
4. off
5. off
6. off
7. on
8. on
The error I was receiving, per the KL-8070D Driver, according to the flashing pattern of the red LED was the following from the manual:
Is this a possible/likely PSU, Driver or motor problem?Over-current Protection:
Over-current protection will be activated when continuous current exceeds 16A or in case of short circuit between motor coils or between motor coil and ground, and RED LED will turn on once within each
periodic time (3 s).
Thanks in advance,
Zach
