Hi need some help with file extensions on C drive of pc.

Machine is running on old WinNc in windows 95, and was great until I inadvertently changed the file extension of a bunch of
files on C drive to be opened with notepad, My mistake I know, opened what I thought was a program file and left the always
use this program box checked.

There are 48 in total files with a .chk extension (0000.chk) and so on. Would be most grateful if anybody could let me know
what the correct program is for these files ?.

These are fixed (or not) checkdisk files. I dont think renaming works.
